What are the costs for insurance in Thailand?

Thailand offers excellent health insurance policies. These policies provide coverage up to $1,000,000+ USD, which is valid anywhere on the planet (excluding the USA) and can cost as little as 20,000 THB/year ($667 USD/year).

Additionally, Thai medical services are significantly cheaper compared to Western countries. Thailand has some of the best hospitals globally, and as a result, Westerners are increasingly visiting Thailand for medical tourism.

The prices for procedures are up to 1,000 times less expensive than in Western countries. Homeowner’s insurance is typically about 5,000 – 10,000 THB/year (approx. $166 – $300/year), with extensive coverage. An insurance policy even covered the expenses for a client who had an electrical fire in their home while they were away in the UK.

The insurance covered most of the furniture and an entire kitchen, which had been destroyed by smoke damage. Car insurance, which covers everything, is about 15,000 THB/year ($500/year). Policyholders can even take their vehicles to a body shop once a year for a touch-up paint job or to remove small dents, scratches, and other external damages, which is completely covered by the policy.
